Before I start posting the PHP tutorials I have been working on, I thought I would post some links to various PHP resources, tips, tricks and tutorials that are already existing.
The first one I want to list is Practical PHP Programming - a print book and now an online Wiki -
The second one, which serves well once users have a grasp on some of the basics of PHP is the actual PHP web site:
PHP Home Page
The third one is the W3Schools PHP section:
W3Schools PHP
These sites offer some great information, and as I said, once you start getting your feet wet with PHP and understand functions, variables, arrays and the like, you will find the PHP.net web site indispensible for looking up functions that are built-in and/or can be compiled in with PHP.
I would also like to point out a new initiative for getting programmers and web hosts to start making the move to PHP5 by Tuesday, February 5th, 2008. You can read more about that at the GoPHP5.org web site.
I will be working on some of the basic PHP tutorials over the coming weeks here and posting them as they are finished and then I will start getting into database connectivity, user login/session management, secure practices when programming in PHP and more.
